Esmé's Everyday Ways - Body Knows Best!

I could talk about health and wellness all day long, I'm just a little bit passionate about it!

I'm lucky to be fit & healthy ('Fit at 40' blog post coming soon!), however as a myofascial & lymphoedema therapist I've worked with those who haven't and so this list of 8 is the tip of my wellness ideas iceberg.

I thought it was time to share some of my everyday ways;

  1. Let your body wake slowly - set the alarm a few mins earlier.

  2. Then stretch it out - wake up that fascia!

  3. Drink a glass of water first, (before the coffee!) - help your organs.

  4. Eat a variety of food; fruit, veg, meat, fish, chocolate. Moderation is the key, stagnate and you will more likely reach for the sweet stuff!

  5. Make sure your food input & your energy output have a good balance.

  6. In general - move more! For cardio - get that heart rate up too.

  7. Think about how you hold your body with everyday movement - e.g., picking up the kettle - where's your shoulder going or mashing the potatoes, are you engaging your stomach muscles?

  8. Allow your body to rest, switch off and recover...we are not robots!

  9. Oooh, I could go on...Enjoy :-)
